I think folks forget just how good that 2011 defense was. They were statistically superior to this year's defense in most categories. First in the nation in pretty much every category, including total yards per game by ~80 yards (suck it LSU). That defense will be the standard for all defenses to be measured by.

I still hate Georgia Southern for screwing with our rushing yards per game


Having said that, yeah it's always sad to see such good players move on.

I think this one is deeper, faster and more versatile. This defense can stop up tempo spread teams as well as power teams. Both had great leadership. Going into this NC game, I would rather have 2015.

The 2011 team didn't really face the level and diversity of offenses that this team faced though. Might be wrong, but I think SOS favors this year's team quite a bit as well.
