I know they're the biggest line in all of football, but they didn't look gassed AND they could block (run and pass). If Pittman can do that here, wow.

Tale of the tape:

Arky was 4th in the SEC in rushing (197.31)
Georgia was 7th (192.15)

Passing Arky 3rd (268.2)
Georgia was 10th (185.1)

Scoring Arky was 2nd (35.9)
Georgia was 9th (26.3)

3rd down conversion
Arky #1 at 46.88%
Georgia #13 at 31.01%

I'd say it's an upgrade

Just imagine how much more efficient Michel and Chubb could be with a line like that.

I hope so. But we probably dominated in all of those categories the year before. We looked much worse this year because of QB play and losing Chubb, more than anything else. I DO agree with you that he will do better....but it's hard for me to draw the correlation based on those statistics.

Out od curiosity, Dallas.....is the SOS based on the seasons end records or the beginning of the season?

we had the largest line in football about 7-8 years ago, I don't want the largest line, I want the best balance between size and mobility.

Fat guys are best for pass protection but strong/athletic guys are best for run blocking.

Running game is 80% about your OL vs their front 7, 20% about your running back quality.

I think this is the biggest hire Smart has made. Just imagine if Chubb has a top 5 OL in front of him

Greyson Lambert vs. Brandon Allen probably also makes a little bit of a difference

When you are expected to run on first and second down every series and there is little threat of a deep ball, it's a lot easier to limit the running game.
