If Oregon loses, this would be the biggest choke in football history

Not even close.

Northwestern led Michigan State 38-3 and lost 41-38.

Minnesota led Texas Tech 38-7 and lost 44-41

I know.

I laughed when he said it but he was right.

3 point game, TCU has ball on plus side, 2:17 left.

I did too. I actually gave my balls to my wife for one of her home shows until I got a text and kicked her as out.

Nice revisionist history by Mack Brown there regarding the 2009 Big 12 championship game.

The game actually ended on an incomplete pass with Nebraska winning. The ref put 1 more second on the clock and Texas made the winning FG

Edit: You are right, he didn't call timeout, it was reviewed. I think he did try to call timeout but the clock definitely ran out. I have vague memories of him running up the sideline trying to get a timeout (but too late).

But about that one second:
quote:

Big 12 officials issued a further explanation today about the rule used to give Texas its opportunity to kick a game-winning field goal as time expired Saturday in the Longhorns’ 13-12 victory over Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship Game at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

The winning kick came one play after game officials used replay review to restore one second on the clock, which showed 0:00 after an incomplete pass by Texas triggered a premature victory celebration by Nebraska players. The rule that allowed the final play is Rule 12, Section 3, Article 6.

After outlining the limitations on reviewable plays, the rule says: “The replay official may correct egregious errors, including those involving the game clock, whether or not a play is reviewable.”
