Did anyone catch Pinkel on the Film Room show with Finebaum? I am watching the replay and was pleasantly surprised with him on the show.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Thought Michigan St. would have given them a better game. What a dud.At least Oklahoma lost.

I expected Alabama to win, but I didn't expect the embarrassment for the B1G. I thought MSU's defense was better than that. I also think they got worn down though. One thing I've seen in the SEC that I think is definitely different than any other conference is conditioning. SEC teams are tough, strong and very physical - and they play hard for 4 quarters. I don't think the Big 12 was as tough, physically; neither is any other conference for that matter. It's just a really physical league. I thought the B1G would match up best, but that was an embarrassing loss for them.

It was similar to what BAMA did to Mizzou last year. 2/3 of the game was closeish then BAMA turned it on at the end.

Well, Mizzou didn't get shut out at least.

And that game last night wasn't ever close. I watched from midway through the first half to the end, and it seemed to me Bama controlled the entire game.

Pretty obvious the only 2 decent teams this year in the Big 10 are Michigan and OSU.

The rest of their bowl games have been hilariously bad.

Michigan St.'s defense was good all year except for the Cotton Bowl.Them impressively shut down Ohio St. late in the year.I still expected more from them in the Cotton Bowl.I thought it would be a close low scoring game.

Completely agree that SEC defenses are more physical than other conferences. It is pretty sad how soft all the Big 12 teams are.Even Clemson carved up Oklahoma quite a bit.Not really impressed with Cross's defense at TCU either, but I'll give Odom the benefit of the doubt for now.

TCU had 10 new starters this year, and had a crazy amount of injuries. Cross did great at getting young guys ready to play that weren't expecting to play at the beginning of the year.

When a school has co-coordinators, which one has more influence?

In TCUs case it was Patterson the HC. The case will be the same at Mizzou. Odom will be a major factor in the defense.
