The extraneous campus BS is a possible factor, but he did try to leave for Illinois last year.
And there's been multiple reports since the season ended that there was tension between the two.
You're right in saying Kuligowski was Pinkel's only superstar staff success, although I think Odom has a chance to be in that league himself. I really like how he's carrying himself and the overall coaching philosophies he's putting out there.
Hopefully he can take us to that elusive next level.
