TEGNA, the parent company of KTHV/Channel 11/Little Rock, is giving its employees a little extra in their paychecks this holiday season. TV Spy reports TEGNA employees will recieve a $400 bonus this holiday season.
“TEGNA has made terrific progress since becoming a separate company six months ago and we are primed for great things in 2016 and beyond,” wrote Martore. “But we won’t be able to do it without you. As you’ve heard me say before, you, our employees, are our greatest resource. What each of you does every day matters and is critically important to our continued success.”

That's shitty.
I wonder if they meant $4,000? Maybe they left off a zero.

As someone who knows a little something about giving out Christmas bonuses- I say take what you get and shut up. If you don't like it, look for a new job. Many places don't give you squat.

The bike shop I worked at through high school and college gave out more than that.
But yea, I'd still take what I could get.

We give out more than that except for part timers but still, I've worked at places that didn't give anyone anything and their idea of a Christmas celebration was the employees bringing dishes and having a potluck lunch. 400 isn't a lot of money but it would help buy a present or two- people bitch too much I guess is my issue with it.

Agreed. They're not obligated to do it, that's why it's called a bonus and not a salary.
$400 is a brand new gaming console with a game or two for someone.

For salaried employees? Employers should know you get what you pay for. I'd expect a lot of turnover of good employees unless it's easy to get a raise or move up in the company. That's bad management, unless of course they're real hurt for cash.

Exactly, I would rather them not give me shite, than insult me with a measly $400, unless I was an uneducated $15 an hour type of worker.

yes, for salaried or non salaried either one.
we give a good christmas bonus, throw a hell of a party with great food, all you can drink too (some of us myself included may have taken that a bit too far this year), plus other stuff that i don't want to be more specific about but let's just say everyone gets probably 100 value in 'gifts' at party and also we play some sort of game each year and spend a few grand on those prizes. a few folks still have the nerve to complain that eventually gets back to management. and you'd be surprised on how few bother to say thank you.
go to work for acxiom or many big companies and also many smaller companies and see what you get for christmas.

This. I am very lucky to work for a company that gives out a christmas bonus, and 2 18 pound petit jean hams for christmas. They also include open day(s) of deer season as a paid holiday(s) and a 4th of july bonus.
