Yes, frankly, they can. There is really only so much planning you can do for Sparty. They are not hard to figure out and come straight at you just like Bama. Solid defense and an offense that is serviceable.

As Saban prepares Alabama for the Spartans, you can bet he is also throwing in some for Clemson and Okie's style. It's only smart to sometimes overlook one opponent to ensure that you ultimately win your 5th NC.

Let's face it, Bama is pretty much a lock in the MSU game. So, hey, why not also use this extra time to prepare for another type of opponent that you will also face.

Alabama players know the deal and understand that we have this game. The difference with Alabama's mindset is that they also know that there is a game after the next game, no offense to Michigan State.

it's the playoffs.....they're not overlooking anyone. If you're one of the 4.....you're legit.

I feel like we had this conversation about Bama overlooking a Big 10 team with their 3rd string QB last year.

Just like we could overlook OSU last year and focus on the Ducks.

No one knows how good teams from other conferences are until they play each other. Hell, Clemson and MSU may be in the final this year.

Prepare for the game in front of you. This team doesn't want to lose in the semis again.

Yeah, but it's MSU. Listen, if you've ever played football, you know young guys look forward to the future.

I say they can enjoy that and have earned it.

I've played football but that has nothing to do with my knowledge of Alabama football.

I think we agree that it's good for player's to look forward to all their games, not just the next one.

I know, I know, the mantra is to never look ahead and only worry about the next game but, that isn't what really happens in real life.

Alabama players are thinking of the NC, naturally, they are only human. And considering MSU is a poorer version of Alabama, why not?

Why shouldn't they dream and enjoy themselves and what they have achieved so far?

after what happened last year do you honestly think Saban is doing this "overlooking" thing?

Last year is not this year and MSU is not OSU. Not even close to the same level of comparison.

And yes, I think that is what makes Saban different than all other coaches and what makes him ultra-successful. He does teach an overall mission type atmosphere and is not myopic and narrow-minded. He absolutely has been preparing the team for both MSU and the other two.

Have you ever heard of The Process®?

He'd have 10 days to prepare for the next team up. OU and Clemson are totally different styles. Essentially he'd have to prepare for three teams if he did what you're suggesting instead of focusing on the one.

I guarantee you when he found out who we were playing....ALL the attention went to them. This is too big a game to be looking 10 days ahead. C'mon man.......get your head out of the gutter.
