Is 3-21 in his last 24 SEC games. Kentucky 2012, LSU 2014, Ole Miss 2014. Last two shutouts thanks to Robb.
Chaney was not the QB coach with Brees at Purdue which he gets acclaim. Chaney called the plays for Brees and then Kyle Orton.
He was never a QB coach until Dooley's last year at Tennessee. His coaching history shows TE and OL coach moving up to OC.

Pittman isn't coming back. He left Bert's fat arse for Chaney's fat arse.
Sorry.
Sorry.

Great hire UGA
Serious question. How does one lack such willpower, to allow oneself to get that f*ckin' fat?

Umm not to dog on Chaney as I actually like him as a person but I wouldn't admit to being Tyler Bray's QB coach (and Worley's and Peterman's) during Dooley's last year. TB is an exceptional talent who rides the pine in the pros solely because no one taught him how to play QB. He showed up on Gruden's show before the draft admitting he didn't know how to read defenses.
Oddly enough TB isn't the only exceptional talent riding the pine in the Pros - CP can't run routes and I don't know what the hell has happened to Justin Hunter (other than being stuck with the Titans). All three of those should be having great careers but Dooley...

Lol he left them for fricking Pitt and saw it as a step up
That's gotta be hard for these dip shits to accept
But don't worry hogs you still got your "best 7-5 team ever" shirts and another shitty bowl game nobody cares about right?

All the above said, he did manage to get Peterman to do ok at Pitt so there's that.

20 TDs and 5 INTs this season. That's a football miracle

After this hire I expect a lot of Kirby Smart threads:
Why hasn't Kirby been fired?
Who owns firekirbysmart.com?
What was Chaney thinking?
The possibilities are endless.
Perhaps Muschamp and Smart are like twins separated at birth.

In a season where they had to replace an 1800 yard rusher from the previous season, no less. I can't say I'm ecstatic but I'm starting to come around on it a bit.

Just about. Although, I think Peterman just needed some confidence and a change of scenery. He was a helluva practice player that couldn't translate it to a live game and very well liked here by the coaches but he could never shake the UF game he started and continued playing in despite breaking his thumb. That game was one of the worst performances I've ever seen by a QB -- so bad that we had a sports psychologist working with him to get over it.
But in the end, I think he just couldn't get past it here and needed a fresh start. I'm very happy Peterman got a chance to shake all of that at Pitt.

lol if you actually think he left on his own. He was going to be fired if he didn't accept another job.

Meanwhile, Brian Schottenheimer is 5-3 as an SEC offensive coordinator. Surely he'll be able to find another top job in the league since his offense wins more games than it loses.
What were the defensive numbers of the 2012 Tennessee and 2013 Arkansas teams? Probably not very good.

still couldn't do shite with a top 10 defense on the other side of the ball in 2014. Several lost leads in the fourth where the defense was left out to dry.

Let's be real, outside of Kiffin and Bama, how many other SEC teams can look at their OC and OL situation and honestly say they are in a better position? We had Brian Schottenheimer last year, nowhere to go but up. Unlike most UGA fans, I'm a big fan of the hires.

How effective was his offense on 3rd down, does he utilize the tight end, and did he ever operate out of the pistol?
If all of these apply, I'm fine with this hire. Even 2 out of 3 and I may still be okay with it.

3rd downs were terrible
he utilizes everyone on a go route
he never used a screen game
yes, he uses the pistol way too much
I was never a fan of Chaney and was glad to see him leave the program. Glad it worked out so he saved face by finding another job before Bert had to publicly let him go. Met him a few times. Nice guy, great at X's and O's but for some reason once he runs through his first half script, he goes to shite fast.
saying that...Pittman is a good one...We will be fine IMO...Bert has ALWAYS had a good Oline and put plenty in the league. So, the end game is, I am not worried about our line play going forward.
What worries me is the timing of this. We are in on some pretty good Olinemen right now recruiting wise.
