If you're saying "elite = 1st rd pick = a tall, white QB with an above average arm", I agree. But he doesn't appear to be an elite college QB. He consistently underthrows the deep ball, his scrambling abilities are subpar, he can't make the right read on a zone read (an integral part of CFB) and he has an extremely slow release (which kills the quick game). I'm not sure he reads defenses that well, as he's thrown a bunch of bad INTs. Apparently he's been given freedom to change plays, which has had bad consequences. I would have loved for him to stick around for the new OC, though. He deserve better than Spav, but he apparently liked Spav, so whatever.

Toss in that he folds under pressure and you've nailed my thoughts exactly. I see nothing "elite" in him, I have no doubt that he can be better than the shite show we witnessed this year, but I've seen nothing from him that tells me he's elite. Now maybe that was all offensive scheme and sumlin/Spav woefully let him down, we shall see when he plays for a new coach and new school.
