Not at all. I fully acknowledge that there are OM fans in MS. We aren't going to get every kid. I grew up a State fan and can't think of anything that would persuade me to play for OM, I know OM fans feel the same way toward us.

I'm just saying that if he grew up a State fan, he's going to end up at State. If he grew up an Ole Miss fan, he's going to end up at Ole Miss. However, I assume there are also a few kids in the grey area who don't have a preference. I have no idea which of the three categories he falls under.

That's if all things are equal, and for Simmons, they really shouldn't be if he is smart. Here is why.

Our current staff's DL's in the league:

Josh Boyd
Fletcher Cox
Preston Smith
Pernell McPhee
Denico Autry
Kaleb Eulls
Kyle Love

You do realize the majority of D1 athletes didn't grow up a fan of a college team the way you and I did, right? We are on a message board. We represent 10% of a fan base, much less an entire state population. This is especially true in MS because if there were a "favorite college school growing up" type of question there's more that say Alabama and LSU than either instate school.

If he were a fan of either school growing up that had any real significance in where he is gong, we would know it by this point in his recruitment

Your current staff? How many people are on his staff that recruited and coached those kids? We are about to put a DL with his exact same HS size and position into the first round, and the kid that was one spot behind in in the recruiting rankings isn't. You think the NFL angle is going to work against Freeze? Do you not understand what is about to happen at the end of April on the first day of the draft? First the state have better women and now this. I definitely bit on that hook

If you grew up a fan of the Titanic and knew it was going to sink, would you still get on?

Not True

How long has Dan coached at State? I would hope after seven years he would manage to have someone in the league. Glad to see that not everyone has washed out at State.
