Oh BS. There is no question at all Donnan schedule was tougher than the pansy east schedule we have been playing the last 5 years.

Are you blindly ignoring just how god awful Vandy, Kentucky, and USC were when Donnan was here. UT and UF even being down are better than what those 3 teams were back then. I completely agree that the east sucks but to say it was tougher then as a whole is just stupid.

Bringing the bottom up vs. Taking the top down are in no way similar. Bringing the bottom up (but not fully to the same level) simply puts you in position to play more close games against what would have been vastly inferior talent in other years.

Alternatively, bringing the top down (as the case with UF/UT) means you don't have truly "scary" teams on the schedule in your division... yet we still found ways to make sure we lost at least one of those in most years.

USC maybe played at/near UF/UT's lowest during Donnan's tenure, but only for about 2-3 seasons. Vandy/UK, nowhere near it.

Kentucky

Kentucky wasn't God awful while Donnan was at UGA. Mumme was at Kentucky, and they were live.
