I moved to Birmingham from Atlanta in Dec of 2002
I 20 from the Alabama line to Bham metro has had AT LEAST 20 - 40 miles of interstate under construction the entire time - that's 13 fricking years
And I don't have the 1st clue as to how long it had been going on before I moved here.
Road work is a fricking jobs program here in Abalama (sic)
To make it even worse, the parts that have been completed are still 2 lanes
The stretch from Talladega National Forrest to Heflin had a lady die from a piece of road debris thrown up in the air by a truck
That was 2010 - that stretch of road is still not done
Alabama Power working on the interstate this weekend won't be a real surprise to anyone...

I've made the drive from the Sip to Georgia 1,000 times and it's been horse shite for at least a decade.

The construction is both East and West bound.

The roads in Alabama are always shite .
The roads that aren't having construction, with winding narrow lanes, have potholes or the asphalt is rougher teenager's pizza zit face.

I've spent a lot of time in the poors (Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama) -- Alabama's roadways are like what I would expect in Tunisia.

It really isn't any better in Louisiana, Mississippi, or Georgia. 20 in GA sucks arse and has construction too. 10/12 are just bloody clusterfricks.
