I think mubobby had it nailed.

Herman had the offer this entire time, and he finally declined. Odom always knew he'd get the job if that happened and that's why he turned down Memphis.

I think Rhoades had a Plan A & B in his feeble little mind. He executed about as well as Henson's frickin' offense in 2015.

I think he did great. Had Herman as his top target all along, and went all in on him knowing he had a great coach in his pocket of he didn't get him.

The hire was frick up proof and he didn't frick it up.

Makes sense given the mack connection I guess. So mack kept trying, gave up and hired Odom. thank god Odom bailed on Memphis or we would have been screwed

It's not like Mack got beat out for Herman. He is staying put until Strong is out at texas. He took his best option once Herman gave him an official no today.

Odom was my second choice and Herman was my first. Herman was not available. We did well. Let's just hope we can get an average OC or better. What we have now is shite.

It would be great if we can keep Kul but doubtful. I'm guessing they will find a place for Hill and will most definitely keep Ivey.

This is nothing like KA, but go ahead and suit yourself. KA was a 63 year old D-2 coach.

Odom is a young hot commodity, that fell in our lap, sort of by plan.

Herman was listening, but in the end it was understood that Odom was the better choice long term.

There was fear that Herman would bolt for Texas.

It's all about the coaching hires and flushing out the garbage now.

The board process was like KA.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Odom

It's pretty close to KA. Both were assistants for head coaches at Missouri. Both had zero HC experience at the major college level. Both were hired because they are Mizzou guys. Both are going to get fired for being out of their league. Odom has barely been a DC. 3 years of great defense and shite offense followed by a new coach, 5 years to rebuild the program....maybe in 8 years we win another division. Till then prepare for the ugliest offenses you have ever seen.

So the Big Donors didn't want to buck up to pay the assistants of "Troll Mizzou fans" more money?

I don't know, you tell me. We don't really know if there was a Plan A, and if there was, how far along the process it got to. Kilgore, in the end, was wrong and his twitter account is no longer in existence. That says alot to me.

We again settled in for a typical Mizzou hire and that's the only thing that is relevant now. I'm not going to bash this hire. I will silently support Odom and hope for the best.

I think we heard about the real candidates.

Rhule and Dykes were the two that had the most traction.

Herman said no pretty early after Houston decided to throw money at him.

The backlash of Dykes would have been bad, so we get Odom.

Hopefully the next time we need a coach(basketball looking at you), the campus climate is a little more receptive to someone on the outside.

If it was between Dykes and Odom, I much preferred Odom.
