Mizzou football has been successful in the SEC due to our southern heritage

which does in fact go back further than the Civil War.
To people ignorant of history Missouri may seem foreign, but Missouri was fighting the Civil War long before cannons blasted Fort Sumter and Missouri fought and died to support the southern cause and to preserve our southern heritage along with the other southern states.
Missouri is good at football because we're southerners who love college football (and Cardinal baseball).

Undefeated Iowa. And many people in Iowa have a lot in common with southerners. Hate to break it to you. There are a lot of baptists, Methodist, Episcopalians and Pentecostals there. Real good salt of the earth Midwesterners.

I'm not. I'm just a proud Alabama fan who sympathizes with our Missouri southern brethren and believe southerners should educate themselves before proudly making grossly uneducated comments about Missouri.
