Why did Georgia fire Richt is he is so great?

Can't wrap my head around that?
Seems to me that he was fired for waning results and listening to him talk like a broke dick dog it's not real hard to see why they were waning. He doesn't have the necessary fire left in him to be the head of a program.
He'd be a disaster. We need a coach full of piss and vinegar. Richt seems like he's more full of mothballs, tee times and matlock reruns.

Because they've hit the top a few times and are unhappy with competing for division titles. Their fans think they should be in the national title picture consistently, and they might be right. They got impatient and want it now.
Georgia is a borderline blue blood program, we are not.

His name will put asses in the seats.
His name will help assistants recruit GA High Schools.
His name helps get the best Assistant Coaches
Rhodes wants a CEO type
If Memphis is announcing their hire at 1:00, then my pick is Lincoln Riley.

Because the UGA fans thinks they're Bama & apparently the boosters do too. All MR did was win A LOT....9-10 (or more) games every year.

OTOH, his last seven years have not been as productive as his first 8yrs.
In the past 7 seasons, Richt has been 5-16 against top-15 teams, and had nine losses against unranked teams.

Richt did less with more.

At some point you have to realize you've plateaued. We dont' think we're bama, but historically we're right around the 3rd best SEC program of all time. Yet, in teh last 20 years, UT, UF (x3), AU, LSU (x2), bama (x3) have all won a title and we haven't. It's not about "oh we should be the #1 progam everrrr" it's more about "hey, umm...those schools don't have anything significant different/better than we do, how come they're winning titles and we're not?"
Richt's first 7 years were phenomenal. His last 8 years were alright wiht no hardware to show for it. At some point, you have to face reality and make moves to improve your program.

True...but we don't have an SEC title in 10 years and he's never gotten us to the national title game.
AFter dooley, goff was a disaster. Enter donnan, who stabliized us and brought us back to winning 8ish games every year and increase our recruiting. But he stagnated. Enter richt, who brought us up to another level of 9/10 wins and again, increased talent. But he stagnated. Now the goal is to finally break through and take us to the next level. What's so wrong with that?

Because we like Pinkel.
Neither can win the big games
Both put together a competitive roster

UGA is the only SEC program out of the "Big 6" to have not won a national championship in the BCS/Playoff era. UGA is 6th at best as far as football program in the SEC.

I wasn't referring to all dawg fans but you have a boat load that think you should never lose a game. I agree that you've shite the bed against teams that you should have beaten but everyone has.....Indiana in the house
Maybe you haven't won an SEC title lately because everyone else is getting better too. And then sometimes shite just happens....an injury to a key player.....a player just didn't produce like you thought.....a coach leaves.......or a new team comes into the league and just fricks everything up for everyone

Hence, why I said "all time". Do you understand what those words mean when put together like that? I also used a reference point of 20 years, which encompasses the BCS era. Does that make sense to you?

Ok..so logical step would be we need to get better than we have been too, right? We know what we're getting with richt, he's been here 15 years. It was time for a change.

you can find excuses every season.
-13 we were decimated by injuries
-14 we had a first year QB and our best player suspended
-15 we had a first year QB and our best player injured
-16 we'll have a TFR quarterback
and so on and so on. You can always find excuses for losses. If you want to play that game Richt could have been here 30 years.

Ok "all time".
National Championships by current SEC schools "all time":
Tie breaker goes to the school with the most recent Natty.
1.Alabama: 15 (1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1941, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979, 1992, 2009, 2011, 2012)
2.Tennessee: 6 (1938, 1940, 1950, 1951, 1967, 1998)
3.Florida: 3 (1996, 2006, 2008)
4. LSU: 3 (1958, 2003, 2007)
5. Texas A&M: 3 (1919, 1927, 1939)
6. Auburn: 2 (1957, 2010)
7. UGA: 2 (1942, 1980)
Looks like UGA is 7th out of the 14 current SEC schools "all time".

True again
So if you were in our shoes, would you want MR or look elsewhere?

If I was missouri I would sell out and give anything it took to get richt.
But, I don't think he'll end up there. Nor would I want him to, it'd be too weird.

Agree......I also like the idea of him coaching us with a huge chip on his shoulder

Kinda but we're Mizzou so we know weird

He sure doesn't sound like a guy with a chip on his shoulder. He sounds like a dog that just got neutered
