Are you kidding me? Worst coach ever at MU and should never have been hired. I think he has already quit on this team. He should not be given any more time to run this program further into the ground.

KA needs to be give 3-4 years.. Its not like MU is going to be able to go out and get a top of the line famous coach....
I don't want every two years we change coaches... KA bleeds Black N Gold give him a chance. HE should have been hired before the last coach....

Meh. I wasn't a fan of the hire but he should be given a chance. Nothing will change between now and the end of the season. And I seriously doubt he's quit. I have no doubt he's doing his best. Whether or not his best is good enough is to be determined. Doesn't seem so to this point. But he should be given this year and who knows, maybe we still get to 15 wins. I have my doubts but it's not like it's out of the question.
Another 9 win season and it's time IMO.

Phillips & Puryear are well on their way to becoming very good college players. Wright, Gant, & Clark have all been disappointing this year.
If the second half of northwestern is the norm for the year then 15+ plus wins is on the table. If the lazy play in the first half is the norm 10 wins won't happen.

He drops one to Northern Illinois or someone like them it is really going to start getting ugly. They will give him until the end of the year but we lost to two awful teams this week and they acted like they didn't want to be there. There just doesn't seem to be much fight in KA. It is to bad but he just isn't up for the job.

I've liked Phillips and Puryear for the most part. Puryear does need to stop shooting 3's much like J3 needed to stop.
I think the question isn't which half do they play like, but what stretch of 40 minutes do they play like. It's easy to cherry pick short periods of play that were good or bad. Playing 40 minutes like they did against Northwestern isn't going to get to 15 wins. Bottom line is they have to get a lot better in a very short time if they want to get to 15 wins. But I do think KA should get the year to see if he can get them there.

When I said I think they lose 1 of the next 3, that was the game I was looking at.

My opinion isn't that he doesn't have the fight. He just comes off clueless to me. I don't think he knows how to get his rotation down to 7, 8 or 9 guys. He may primarily use 8 guys one game but then it's a completely different 8 guys the next game.
I think while in a game, he spends too much time thinking about "What should I do next?" instead of it being innate to him. Just like with the players, it's almost like the game is just too fast for him still. Dunno.

Didn't kstate also stomp UNC? They may not really be awful. Kenpom had both in the high 60's. Mizzou came into the season 100 spots lower than both of them.

KState lost by 10. And the key point of your post is that Mizzou is one of the lowest P5 ranked teams in the KenPom rankings.

Right one of the worst P5 school with no upperclassmen that produce. Part of the issue Mizzou has right now goes back to Haith.
But KA has to do better with what he has. The first step is to get his guys to play hard from the very beginning. Both Kstate & Northwestern games Mizzou came out flat & not playing hard. If there are many more games like those 2, then KA can go.

I ould love to see KA be successful. I'm sure he's a wonderful man, loves Mizzou and is a good coach. But I don't think he's the right coach for Mizzou and a P5 program. I hope he can get it done, but I just don't see it happening.
There's just too much working against him, most of which isn't his fault. He seems like a guy who wants to build a program from the ground up, with players, schemes, program identity, etc. That takes time, which he doesn't have. Interest is at perhaps an all-time low after the mess left by Haith. The campus climate is screwed up by the protestors, and the PR from that has been a disaster. Rhodes has to do something to stop the bleeding from both his money-making programs, which goes back to KA not having time. Bad situation for KA.

Meh. No more of the Haith excuse please. KA has had plenty of time to correct that. He brought in 2 JUCO players this year and could have last year. Not Haith's fault that the JUCO guys 1. Aren't even playing. 2. Aren't contributing. It's all on KA at this point.

At this point, is the women's team making nearly as much $$$ as the men's team? I'd bet the crowds will be just about the same. I think the men's team only plays on a real channel 2 or 3 times. The rest is on SECN just like the women's team.

I read some where that only 9 schools in the country make money in basketball though. You make your money in football. Not sure where I saw that. But it certainly our second most profile program.

Nebraska-Omaha just lost to Minnesota by just three points. Hell they might beat us.
