How am I supposed to feel?

I am a Citadel graduate and Citadel supporter. I go to 1-2 Citadel games per year and pull for them, but couldn't name more than 3-4 players on the roster.
I am a season ticket holder at USC and attend every home game. Naturally, I wore my Citadel blue Saturday. I was happy for our performance, but wanted to throw up at the same time.
I want to be proud of the Dogs (and am), but all the congrats I am getting at work feel strange.

My wife, a neutral party, told me I could not root against the school that gave me my diploma on Saturday. I was there in '92 the last time the dogs beat the gamecocks.

Be proud of your alma mater and be happy it didn't happen to us when we were having a better season.

That was 1990 when they last beat us.
And regarding the OP..I can't even wrap my mind around that. I don't think I could do it, honestly. Colors other than Garnet and Black irritate the frick out of my skin. I think I'd automatically think that ppl congratulating me on the Bulldog's win were being facetious and I'd spout off with something rude without thinking.
My grandfather graduated from the Citadel a long, long time ago and I tried to placate myself with the knowledge that, had he still been alive, Saturday's win would have made him so happy. But it didn't do anything to alleviate the disappointment and pain associated with that loss no matter how hard I focused on my grandfather's history there.

This. Losing to The Citadel cost USC nothing this season. No chance at a bowl, no chance at a championship, nothing. I'm happy for The Citadel kids, as they're all true student athletes. They'll remember that win forever.
My primary concern about Carolina is that the program will never again achieve "the golden years" of the 2010s.

That is why the hiring of our next coach is so critical. We have to make a slam dunk hire; someone who is going to tirelessly build this program back up. We have seen that it CAN be done, so the next guy needs to be someone who can do it.

Meh, be proud of your bulldogs. They did what it took to win the game. The call at the end was bullshite though, Pharoh's TD should have counted.

It was a bad call, but watch the replay. Play was blown dead, otherwise a block in back would have been called at about the 30 yard line.
