A better recruiting base to build on within the state, averaging 80,000+ fans a game (even when they're not very good), and the area is a desirable locations.
And that's not even taking into account not wanting to follow in the footsteps of Pinkel after the way his leave went down as well as the obvious shakeup in your University administration.

Mizzou will be the easier team to turn around. We already have a championship caliber defense. We just need him to come in and fix the offense. South Carolina is a dumpster fire all around and they will be finishing 4-8 this year.

considering you've been wrong pretty much every step of the way about Mizzou/Pinkel/football, I'll take this as a good sign.
