How would you rank the starting QBs of the Saban era thus far?

1. AJ McCarron
2. Greg McElroy
3. Blake Sims
4. John Parker Wilson
5. Jake Coker

That's my list. Coker is the worst of the five but he's not horrible. He fits the very definition of game manager.

Coker also has the worst pass blocking oline of the CNS era. It isn't close.

A horrible QB doesn't lead a game-winning drive against Tennessee with under five minutes remaining. He made some clutch throws in key situations, too.

I mean, he didn't do anything that any slightly average QB couldn't do. His 2 "best" passes were just jump balls.

My list as well, with a chance for Coker to jump a spot based on how this season turns out.

JPW was conformed into a game manager, he had more ability than that, but still not enough to take his teams farther than they went.

Coker is in the same boat, will he be able to come through when Bama faces adversity in the remaining big games?

He has his moments but on the average play he can't hit a wide open player....those Tenn catches were some good catches by the wr.

And I agree the line doesn't help but he has to learn to step up at times and stop trying to roll out. He is a tough MF but he isn't a good thrower.

And they were also pinpoint passes that were placed only where his receiver could catch them.

You're not being objective here my friend.

C'mon man. Those passes were perfectly placed and beat TM7. The catches were awesome too. But the 2 Coker threw on the winning drive against Tenn were 50/50 jump balls. WAY different.

So a game where the opposing team scored 14 points. Bama scores 19. He didn't throw a TD but he is the savior because of one drive. Let's forget about the rest of the game. Defensive coordinators know he can't make the throws. That's the reason miss st blitzed the whole day yesterday. He is no different from Blake besides the fact that Blake could throw the deep ball. Without that long run after catch from ridley cooker doesn't even get us to the red zone.

So I suppose AJ McCarron doesn't get credit for "The Rally in Death Valley" since he was hot garbage outside of the last drive.

Look. Alabama fans love to roast their own players in the name of being "objective". I get it. I used to do the same. But now, I have learned to enjoy their strengths and not focus so much on their weaknesses. I think Coker is serviceable. He's not hot garbage, nor is he tGOAT.

The majority of the throws, even the 4th quarter, were awful. The WRs bailed us out. Hard to argue Coker "won" that game. Defense and clutch catches won the game.

On 3rd and 6 from the Vols 40, that throw was textbook. It was right where only the receiver could get it. We ran on first and second down for 2 yards/down. Coker doesn't make that throw and we lose the game (unless you believe that Griff would have hit that field goal). Ergo, Coker won the UT game for us in much the same way AJ won the Rally in Death Valley.

I really don't get how everything that goes wrong with our offense is Coker's fault (such as being put on his arse because our oline can't hold their blocks, and receivers dropping passes,) but when something goes right it's anyone but Coker that helped make it happen.
