Some of us know the entire history of Dodd and his elitist, holier than thou approach to everything, how he treated schools and people he deemed lower than him and Tech and the way he went about using the media (specifically Furman Bisher) to destroy his enemies. And, how his ultimate decision to make Tech the Notre Dame of the South ultimately failed. They made their bed and they get to lie in it.

Kids then knew, just as they do now, that when they signed with Alabama or Mississippi along with the other 7 best QBs in that state that there was a chance they would not play and get moved to another position. Kids in Alabama did not care, they would rather be the 6th QB at Alabama and play for Bryant than be the starter at South Carolina. The whole argument was crafted around the idea that those kids were being abused. Find me numerous articles and quotes from kids that felt abused by that system.

Exactly why Dodd is a hero of mine. He single handily destroyed the GTU program, and UGA took their place as the in-state power as a result.
