I'm voting with dollars and sense. My daughter is a HS junior. She wants to go to Mizzou. (We had a long conversation this morning about the whole fiasco as one of her teachers in a lily white privileged private school was lauding the "courage of the protestors." I told her to tell her teacher to shove a cactus up her arse from her pops, but hope she doesn't follow through with that advice at a Christian school.) I told her she needs to seriously consider the type of educational environment she selects. Does she want an environment that encourages growth and academic freedom? Or Mizzou? My mom and dad are both alumni. My dad retired from Mizzou. My wife and I are both alumni. I'd bet my daughter ends up elsewhere. A month ago, I'd have put it at 75% she ends up at Mizzou.

State universities will go the same way that mainline denominational churches are going. And no one will notice until the body is cold (metaphorically speaking).

This is all we can do, without being raked across the coals for being "racist" because we dared to disagree with what's going on.

I've heard rumors from some connected people that the University has already lost a lot of money from people cancelling their donations to the school.

808, I just had a conversation at lunch with a fellow alumn whose daughter is a senior this year. She has been accepted to Mizzou, Drury, and Arkansas. Mizzou was first choice a week ago. Arkansas is looking most likely now.
