Interview on Kansas City 810 AM.

Totally unprepared for any of these obvious questions.

He had a great opportunity to move forward, and instead he's just made things worse.

We do what we do rears its ugly head again.

Say what you will about what's gone down, but the people in positions to make a difference in all of this have just made things worse. From Wolfe, to Click, and now GP.

From a leadership standpoint, these folks are all failures in my opinion.

Pinkels hads were tied intitially. He did what he had to do.

His handlers in the University Admin should have kept him out of the media until they could really massage the message. Its clear as day the man didn't support any of this nonsese but did what he had to do to try and save the program.

I dont blame pinkel, the University is squarely to blame for how they have handled this bullshite.

Well....I wasn't on board with firing pinkel of Football performance....but this royal fark up sure did the trick.

Pinkel needs to retire and save face.

I worried about this from the start. GP is just a horrible speaker and always has been. He can't properly get his point across when being interviewed.

Knowing that...you have KK interviewing him who we all know will try to bait him into saying something stupid and we have Pinkel trying to justify actions he had no choice but to make.

Pinkelput no farther thought into this other than if he didn't support this then he would never be able to recruit black players. That's it. Now, of course he can't actually say that so it puts him in a difficult position and with his troubles speaking this is what you get.

Im just kind of confused at what Pinkel's reaction should have been for some of you to look positively on his initial reaction. I think his follow on stuff was terrible but his initial reaction was ok and made sense given the circumstances.

What do you all think he should have done knowing that the future of this program he has helped rebuild hung in the balance?

Look, Im not a fan of any of this bull shite. It actually infuriates me and Im very aggravated with Mizzou right now but I have a hard time finding fault in the fact Gary decided to error on the side of being the guardian of the program as a whole instead of playing the martyr and taking the program down with him in a no win situation.

Has he even given any thought to any of this?

He sounds like he's been living in a cave.

At the very least, be prepared to make a statement on why you supported the team doing what they did.

A simple canned statement like "Racism sucks, and there's no place for it any where. I support my players right to fight against it, yadda, yadda, yadda." Would have sufficed.

Instead he comes off like a grumpy old man, who has literally no idea what's going on and doesn't really know why he supported the team.

For fricks sake, talk to a publicist or something, we do what we do isn't going to work here Pinkel.

I had no problem with his initial stance, because I assumed he understood why he was doing it, or at the very least understood why he had to take it.

Now I see that he really had no idea. He is unable to think critically at a time when it is of utmost importance.

Even if he didn't agree with what he had to do, have the savvy to think it over, and arrive at a place that you feel comfortable discussing it.

Don't go on the radio with KK and assume he's gonna want to talk about the BYU game the entire interview.

What a fricking blockhead. Just like the rest of the "leaders". Zero regard for the nuances of being in a public position.

Of course he's given though to it.

His thought was if I don't support this Ill be smeared in the media as a racist and I'll never recruit another black player.

He's not a social activist, he's a football coach.

I agree that his handling of things after the fact has been terrible. His handler, the AD, should have kept his mouth shut and out of the media until he has had some guidance.

Of course, but at least have the sense to get in front of a microphone and articulate something.

Hell, just tell KK right off the bat, "Look, I support my guys ok. I'm not going to go into the weeds on this, just know this racism has not place at our university and I thought it was important that these issues be addressed. So, I allowed them to address them. Now, let's talk about football."

Instead he talks about how it was about a guy that was sick, that he's not aware of anything, that he didn't want the concerned student hashtag on his Twitter, someone else did that.

frick dude. Get a clue. At this point he may as well have said frick it you guys are not joining this protest.

He's lost, and talking out of both sides of his mouth.

Like I said, that was my fear with this. We all know he's terrible at articulating anything.

Our PR department fails again. Like you said. He should have had a prepared statement to read at the beginning and then told him he is only talking about the game afterwards.

It's become comical now.

I was ok with bringing light to a problem, I was ok with the team using their power to do that.

Now, I'm just flabbergasted.

The students are one thing, they are young.

But for highly paid, "professionals" to be so addlebrained, it just blows my mind.

Be prepared, you fricking morons.

Well said.

My guess is this was dumped in Pinkel's lap when the baby was already in the 3rd trimester.

He had no choice but to "support" his players in order to save the program.

I'm also betting he's plenty pissed off at the players who drove this shitshow into his locker room.

He's a football coach, not an activist or a politician.

And after listening to that interview if I were Pinkel I'd tell Keitzman to go frick himself.

Moehler is really bad at his job. He knows Pinkel. He knows he would bumblefrick through an interview like this.

How there was no prepared statement for the beginning of the interview is mind boggling

I'm still very skeptical of KA's basketball coaching ability, but at least he seemingly thinks things through. That is how bad it is for us...I'm celebrating a coach who can think.

Man, I just listened to this a few minutes ago. Talk about brutal. GP didn't know what to frickin say. He started ever answer with, "ehh, I don't know anything about that.".... It wasn't awful until he asked what GP would do if they asked him to renounce his white privilege. Not to mention the fact, they were insinuating that GP was a little bitch for allowing Loftin/Wolfe go out like that, after they always went up to bat for him.

I will say in his favor, KA won't be caught up in any of this shite.
