I'll start by saying that was clearly excessive after they got him outside.

The kids could've easily prevented it though. Cop tells you to walk outside and talk, you walk outside and talk.

I think most people when viewing these videos don't look at it from a Cops perspective. Do you know why he wants the guy to step outside? Because if the cop walks in the risk of something happening to him goes up big time. They don't know what they're walking into. If the guy had just listened to the cop, they might've let him off. Being respectful to cops usually pays off for you. Most of them aren't douches and you can actually talk to them. Even if they didn't let him off, worst case is he gets a slap on the wrist and a chance to fight it in court.

True, but before I go outside I'm going to ask what it's about. I'm not going one on one with a stranger, even if he has badge, if I don't know their intentions.

According to them he just walked in. Maybe they didn't hear him because of the noise complaint, but that's still going to raise my alarm. And if he was being an arse and refusing to tell me what was going on like they claim then it might as well be a home invasion. I'm as patient of a person as you'll ever meet, but I can empathize with how these teens reacted if their story is true.
