Mizzou fans...why does Pinkel hate Tyler Hunt so much? What did he do?

Pinkel's snarky fricking post game comment about Hunt tells me all I need to know. For whatever reason, Pinkel doesn't like the kid (who has the longest runs of the season). Pinkel isn't impressed with a 70 yard run followed by a few other great runs culminating in a Hunt touchdown (which unfortunately was called back for holding).

He put this kid in with 6 minutes remaining in the game. Mizzou had like 95 yards to go for a touchdown. This kid went the entire way on his own, much of the time literally carrying defenders on his back while gaining positive yards. He powered his way 95 yards for a touchdown and Pinkel isn't impressed.
I guess Pinkel prefers Ish Witter's average of 2-3 yards per carry which leads to 3 and outs.
The bad thing is that Tyler Hunt is a senior. What a way to waste talent, Pinkel. Good job! Way to earn your $4 million annual salary.

Because he is a walk on and Pinkel doesn't want new recruits to think that they will get passed up by some random kid off the streets.
Is a fricking stupid viewpoint, you play the best players, if some kid doesn't want to come to Mizzou because he's afraid of a white guy walking on and taking his job I don't want him anyways.

I'm not going to lie. This season has brought out a side of Pinkel I've never seen before. It's like he doesn't give a frick. You have a walk-on bust his arse daily, work his way up the depth chart and absolutely run with every opportunity he gets. One of my favorite quotes is, "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." Tyler Hunt is the absolute epitome of that quote. Dude is willing to lay it all on the line. We need more T-Hunts on the team if you ask me.

Pinkel did nothing but talk up Hunt in preseason, "earned his spot in the depth chart, earned his schollie(walk on) earned his spot in the playing rotation", you would have thought Pinkel would try and run Ty Hunt for President of the USA.
Then something wierd happened, Hunt proved Pinkel wasn't entirely wrong for a change. He actually didnt suck.
Apparently the little bit of fan clamoring for more of Hunt is enough for Gary Pinkel to put him "back in his place" and let him know he won't get to play more just because "those fans think you should".
It's the only explanation for Pinks to do a full 180 on Hunt. The guys ego is incredible, this is the guy who continues to believe he's "too smart" to need to go out and hire an OC rather than just keep promoting position coaches.

Maybe at this point Pinkel doesn't want to believe he has a "solution" just sitting on the bench, after all he would look like an even bigger idiot if actually fixed the offense by just making player changes.

I think it's worse that he is willing to put the same product on the field week after week and expect different results.
Pinkel is digging his own grave right now. The "new era" fans of Mizzou will not tolerate this shite to go on past this year. He's getting a mulligan here, but come next year if this team is still a shite show, adios.
