I still want Ricker fired.

I want Pinkel fired.
We all justify keeping him around because of this perceived success, it just isn't there though and it's not justifiable.
Apart from beating Oklahoma that one time we consistently lose to the big boys, we haven't won a damn thing, and have never attended a BCS bowl. We haven't won a conference championship and have been outscored 93-201 in all those conference championship games. That breaks down to 23 to 50 over the 4. Our closest game was a loss by 17 points.
For all the beautiful stats we spout off, we haven't accomplished anything of merit or matter.
Get him the frick out and lets get on with it while we still have a chance

I'm not quite to the fire GP point. I was in 2012 and hindsight tells me I overreacted then. I agree that I don't think GP is the guy to take us to the next level but I lived through the 80's and acknowledge that he's overall made mizzou relevant. Having said that, if he doesn't do something in the offseason to fix the offense then he deserves the criticism and people calling for his head. No he hasn't gotten over the next hurdle but he has done too much from where he started to simply be fired IMO.
Ricker on the other hand...hasn't done squat to warrant any forgiveness.

Get rid of Henson and Ricker. Both of the units that they are responsible for have continually gotten worse each season they have been here.
Not going for it on 4th and 1 down 3 scores....and then going for it the next drive when a FG makes it a 2 possession game....stupid.
The Zanders zone read in the endzone with Lock at WR...you kidding me? TWICE!
1 long pass each drive killed our defense. If we knock those down, they don't score. Not to mention the 70 yd KO return AFTER the fumble on the goal line.
On positive side...signs of life from the RB. TD for Hansbrough. Honestly don't understand why we came out throwing in the 2nd half. SO STUPID.
Everyone who is claiming "fire pinkel" is overreacting. I'm all for firing henson and ricker.
Just for gigs- who would we get if we fired Pinkel? Lots of open jobs that are equal or better than mizzou this year.

After watching the horrible play calling and the lack of change even with 2 weeks to prepare, its time for change. I love what Pinkel has done, but he and his staff ( except Kul and Odom) have no new tricks in the bag. And you know he is not going to make wholesale changes to improve the offense.
It almost feels like Pinkel is trying to prove HE knows best instead of doing what is best for the program and school. He's not secure enough to bring in a young hotshot OC, he won't hire the hardcore SEC coaches who recruit well. And his WDWWD is his way of saying "I don't take chances or make changes."
The AD took a chance and swung for the fences when he got Herman. I hope he is willing to meet with Pinkel and force him to also swing for the fence, and get the offensive staff the program deserves.

His worst nightmare this year is giving Abbington 10 carries and having him gain 60 yards. He'd rather keel over dead than have that happen.

Exactly...what coach of a top program does that and expects to get to the next level?
Posted on 11/6/15 at 9:13 am to Mizzoufan26
Good god
His success isn't there? Do you realize what we are as a program? Do you realize how CFB is structured?
I mean, I guess there is a minute chance we get a coach who will provide slightly better results but there is a much bigger chance we get one who can't replicate Pinkel's "hollow wins".
This is literally the exact same nonsense after 2012. Hell, we were scuffling worse then. Is your memory that short?
I get that some of you guys are pissed (I am too), but come the frick on

So changing the offensive assistants is nonsense just like 2012? I don't understand.

How could you not understand? I was responding to a post about firing Pinkel. I'm certainly not against some new blood on offense.

I love GP but it's time for a change. If we want to be a long term competitor in the SEC we need some SEC style coaching and recruiting. No more, "let's find the 2 and 3 start diamond in the rough." I want to see us compete with the big boys.
GP can get us to the big dance but he'll never win it.

Pinkel is not going anywhere until he agrees to retire. Maybe there should be some of those conversations between the powers-that-be and Pinkel?
All true Mizzou fans are super pissed. Me too.
FOUR games ago I called for a full offensive house cleaning. ALL coaches on that side of the ball...out. Make big splashy, news worthy O hires that bring talent and recruiting ability. Get a true QB coach. We have the $'s. This is the frickin SEC. Then recruit like crazy. Then coach 'em right. Turn this shite O unit into a strength fast. This is what you have to do with an entrenched HC. Drastic? Desperate? You bet, have you seen the offensive play for 9 games? I have.
This major change would allow Pinkel to ride off into the sunset in a couple of years as a semi-hero. Statue could be ordered.
Now, do I ever think HCGP will do this? Noooooo, the thought will never cross his mind unless someone else presents it. Even then, a gun will have to be held to HCGP's head. He might quit/retire? Okay, good bye and thanks.

While I'm not for firing Pinkel, I disagree that he can't be fired. If Richt and Spurrier can feel the heat then Pinkel can definitely be fired, especially if the AD is smart enough to have a big name ready to sign.

That's fine, but you can't refute the facts that I posted. If you are happy following a team that will never reach anything of significance under Pinkel other than 10 win seasons while we really do avoid the big boys in the conference that's great. Personally I'd like to see the program strive for more though.

Our recruiting has been shite while we were winning, with a year like this, I don't know how they could sell our brand of snake oil.
Additionally we aren't looking to be turning that around so far this year.

If you can't enjoy division championships and 10 win seasons you should probably find another team.
Again, I don't think you have a good grasp of what we are or how CFB works. It's nearly, almost literally, impossible for a non blue blood program to break into that level. Pinkel has almost done it twice. Has had several other really good seasons and the majority of the others were ok.

Pinkel has next year to fix the offense, if we go 6-6 or worse next year there will be a torches and pitchforks in Columbia.
You can't build a program and then watch it crumble, we can thank Pinkel for reviving Mizzou, but maybe he is just a Paramedic and not a surgeon. Once the person is revived, other doctors, ones with more experience and expertise take control of the situation. The same can be said here. Pinkel a goddamn Paramedic, not a surgeon, once you get into the OR(Championship game) he is completely useless.

Should we be 1-7 in the SEC this year?

How is this team worse than the 2012 team? I seriously cannot comprehend that.
