Why do some SEC teams play on Thursday night?

Ole Miss abandoned this in the late 90s and I hope they never go for it again.
We all get enough money from TV so why would any SEC team schedule a home game during the week?
(Thanksgiving and Labor Day are exceptions)

so people will watch them instead of some other game if they play on saturday. also espn needs a game to sell, part of the deal

So that MSU has a few extra days rest to prepare for Alabama...

I'd much rather watch a Thursday night SEC game, than a boring NFL match-up.

are you serious?
you realize the SEC office is the one deciding to play these weekday games, we just play when were told to.

Did you not see my Thanksgiving and Labor Day exceptions in the OP? Also, I said home game.

They do it because ESPN gets what ESPN wants.
I said this would be start happening and people scoffed b/c "Pawwwwwllllll SEC dont do that! Thursday is for small time leagues!!!!!"
Well get ready b/c its going to become more and more common.
Sorry but ESPN will demand it for the SECN and they will win.
