He's a really good athlete who fills a position of need for this LSU defense. He has some work to do in the classroom to get qualified, so he's not 100% in this class just yet.

Yeah this is a bad case of pulling the trigger without a committable offer, they said they are waiting on his academics first before being able to commit. Love him as a player but these situations get a little touchy.

I think if we accepted the commitment, it speaks to the improvement of his academic situation. He absolutely killed it at every camp he went to this past summer.

We accepted his commitment conditionally I believe, but I guess you could say that about everyone until they sign.

Who are yall missing out on to take a commitment from a grade risk like this in November ?

People on the LSU RB are making it seem like the coaches are giving him the wait and see what happens until signing day approach. We did the same thing with Foster Moreau last year and he was the last one in on signing day, but has seen the field situationally as a true frosh.

It's a numbers game, we dont want to scare off any of the potential slam dunks by taking a full commitment from someone who may not even qualify. now if his grades wer ein order, we would allow him to commit, but we dont want to risk taking him only to lose him due to grades AND someone who would have committed if he wasn't.
We have like 28 slots but we are in on so many top talents we cant just accept kids like this right now without being sure they will make it.
