How many "Great" teams and coaches can the SEC reasonably sustain?UGAs Richt situation got me thinking about this.

On the coaches

I would say Saban is elite. Miles is outstanding. Then you have the good to above average guys. Ranking them has no point.

Not good: Mason

Coach Mac could be special but sample size is too small to call now.

Then we have programs. This takes into consideration, Money, talent base etc.
Elite: Bama, LSU, Auburn, Florida

Great: UT,UGA. Sorry A&m you gotta show me something 1st to put you here.

Then we have the rest.

Considering this how many great teams/programs are even possible at one time or an era so to speak? If one or two teams are elite and can compete for National titles then by default the rest cant right?

If UGA finds a better coach, which I'm not sure who a sure fire bet is. Meyer but he's not a possibility. What kind of results can they expect with Saban and Miles still here?

Same can be said for Mac, Malzahn and to a lesser extent Botch (if he can find a better chart).

Sorry this is not a very well put together post. Lulz, but I'm on my phone and it couldn't be as complete as I intended but I think I laid the general question out there.

Of course we can all argue rankings etc till the cows come home. I did not intend to flame any one school fan base etc., and I openly admit maybe putting UF where I did was homerish. Just putting it out there.

Georgia should fire Richt and go get the coach at one of the up-and-coming mid-majors before someone else snatches them up.

He's had 15 years now. UGA is a championship-caliber program with an above-average coach who will never be able to fulfill the program's potential.

There are only two great/good coaches: Miles and Saban

Jimmy Mac is on the way up

Everyone else is just paid a lot so the fans believe they are good.

TN/UGA are no longer elite. They haven't won in at least a decade. TAMU, OM, MSU, Miz and SCAR are good at times. Vandy, ARK and UK just suck.AUB, Bama, LSU and UF run the show
