She immediately said, "but Miles is talking about having him come to the game and talk to the team and that could be the motivation they need to beat us. I have heard is is not doing well and we need to hope he doesn't feel like actually coming to the game and speaking to the team. I hope he lives but I hope he watches from home."

I will give the OP props for sharing this story.

If a LSU fan said something similar, I would sweep it under the rug out of embarrassment and sure as hell wouldn't post it here.

If Sid wants to give a speech to Bama's locker room, I've got no problem with that. Sid can pretty much do whatever he wants.

The most touching part of his story for me is the wonderful way the people of his community have treated him. Nobody wants to see a child go through that.

I read a story today about the little girl from Vietnam who was captured in the infamous photo of a naked, screaming girl running after she'd been napalmed. She's all grown up now, a mother of two. Over the years, she kept in touch with the AP photographer who shot the photo and he helped get her treatments for the unbelievable burns she suffered. It makes it hard to go on when you think of all the suffering in this world but it always blows my mind to learn how people fight through it and refuse to give up hope.

So props to you, OP.
