Missed opportunities/mistakes

I had thought prior to the game that we wouldn't be able to afford many of these and we just had way too many.
These are just off the top of my head...
Sherrils mistimed his jump on the first play of the game and turned a interception into a 12 yard gain.
Two personal foul penalties on their two TD drives. One being the incredibly boneheaded late hit by Howard.
Moore catches a deep pass and has no idea where he was on the field and steps out of bounds costing us a TD
1st deep route to Wingo. No idea who fricked up here, but he had the safety turned around and beat for an easy TD. He ran a post and lock threw a go.
Deep route to Leftwich to start the second half. He had Hargreaves beat and Lock threw a good ball, but they got their feet tangled up. More bad luck than mistake, but that's another huge play if not a TD.
I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones that stick out to me a day later.

First pass of the game to Leftwich. If he stays in bounds that's a TD.
We saw in this game how good Lock can be if given even a little protection in the pocket.
Getting the running game going has to be priority 1 the rest of the season.

That one too, but I put that more on Lock as the throw led him out of bounds. The one to Moore he just turns towards the sideline inexplicably and steps out of bounds where had he turned the other way he walks in for a TD.

We definitely missed some opportunities and had some mistakes. In football there will be opportunities and mistakes made by both teams, our mistakes were bigger and we didn't take advantage of our big opportunities.
I was a big Lock proponent, so I don't mind the mistakes and growing pains. When you have talent and recognize this would be a 6-9 win regular season why not let the youth get the in game experience.
Now with that being said I am totally upset at our coaching staff. We may not win every game but we should at least have our players in a position to win. We were not outschemed or outmatched to the extent we should have been due to the overall talent disparity, we just did not put our players in proper positions to win.
Florida was in a Dime package most of the game, 6 DB's on the field. Florida has shown problems with tackling bigger backs in space on film. Both against Horton at Kentucky and Hurd at Florida. Hansborough is our guy, I understand that and for some reason Ish is our number 2(I still have no idea why) but they should have taken advantage of what was put on film. At the very least it wears down a defense when you run those bodies.
We pay our coach a top 20 salary for a reason and I feel we let him slide on certain aspects of his duties because he revived our program on a daily basis. Coaching at this level includes recruiting and understanding the collegiate landscape as a whole. You can't be this bad on offense at a power 5 program with championship aspirations when you run a true spread, you just can't. It's to many high schools with QB's, RB's, WR's, and OL to play in our system. If you don't have the aforementioned pieces then you as a coach must adapt but the game is already offensive centric all the pressure is on the defense, which makes what we do on that side of the ball that much more impressive.
You can't hold your opponent to 14 offensive points and not expect a win in 2015. You just can't!

I can overlook this. They just made a play and we didn't. Not necessarily a dumb mistake.

These on the other hand are unacceptable. The first one extended a drive resulting in 7 points. Totally avoidable.

That was after Leftwich did it on the first pass of the game. There was nothing but open field in front of him and I don't think he was even touched. Made me sick. The J'moore did it shortly after. Two chances at a TD same drive and they failed.

I put that on no one really. It was covered about as well as it could be and it would have had to be a perfect pass to complete.
I noticed on some of Locks deep balls, he doesn't have that touch yet. I think he needs to learn or get a feel of how much air to put under the ball to loft it over defenders and in front of deep receivers. His deep balls are too flat of a trajectory. He has a very strong arm.

I lost confidence in Leftwich a while back. All that speed and has trouble breaking open on routes. He has to learn to get separation on his routes. He just doesn't very often.

We must be talking about different plays. The one I'm referring to Wingo ran a post route, turned the safety around and was open by a good 10 yards. It was easy pitch and catch for a TD. Either he ran the wrong route or Lock threw the wrong route. Not sure which. From Wingo's reaction he seemed to think it was on Lock. IDK.

I had made a mention somewhere along the line that they have to cut this shite out. I can't even imagine their numbers if they'd stop with the stupid shite. Penton damn near gets flagged with every pass break up for taunting. I see the refs go tell him to cut the crap every time. C'mon man. You're good but it was just a pass break up.

Did Howard come back in the game after that? I noticed Williams out there more than usual.

I remember one post route he kind of got the safety turned alittle but he wasn't open by 10 yards. Might have been before they got to the endzone, but by that time the safety recovered and was in his back pocket.
The one I am thinking about Lock over threw by about 5 yards also.

If I cared enough Id take screenshots of the game film, but I really don't.
He was WIDE open.
A safety who gets turned around is not going to gain any ground on a sprinting Wingo.

Not calling you a liar, I was just discussing. You know, like grown ups do. But I'm not going to sit here and play word games with a smartass prick like you. Here I thought we could actually have a normal discussion. frick that.

Wingo did have a few steps on the DB. A good throw on that post route is an easy TD.
Wingo might turn into a good deep ball weapon. Haven't seen a DB handle his speed just yet.
I'm really hoping Henson brings back the jet sweep with him.
