Jordan would not be an average athlete today. It hasn't been 100 years; athletes haven't improved that much.

What separates Jordan was his ability to score. Some people just have that natural ability around the rim and know how to create separation. I've never seen a player be able to create separation like MJ. Your boy Tony Parker is Probably the best in the league at it right now. Kobe can, but he will just shoot it with a hand in his face all the same. Lebron is big as hell and has a natural separation already.

More players are ridiculously good at it today than in Jordan's day, and do it at insanely efficient clips.

Jordan wouldn't be pedestrian today, but like I said, he was ahead of his time, so he stood out in ways that even better players today do not because he was the "first mover."

That's not to denigrate MJ, either--what he started caused the game to improve in a way it might not have had he not come along.
