quote:

While 75 per game x 4 = 300 for a family of 4 for a single game is not cheap the parking, concessions, and crap for the kids can pop that to 500 a game for a family of 4 which is a big sum if you multiply it by 6 to 8 games. The much bigger issue is the donation required to purchase said tickets that may dwarf the cost of the actual tickets,

1) parking is free
2) each fan can bring in plastic bottle of water (or vodka filled water bottle if that's your thing)
3) There's a free tailgate sponsored by LSU for fans of BOTH teams

Seems like you have to TRY to come out of your pocket for anything in addition to the ticket price itself. It's a helluva deal. If money was tight, i would just buy the ticket and turn into Dave Chappelle from Half-Baked and freeload the rest of the way.

People are really blowing the ancillary costs out of proportion

I think local folks are being lazy and plan to buy day of...wouldn't be shocked to see 50-60k in attendance by game time

I don't really think it's a cost thing, maybe for some, not most. More of a late notice thing on an extended weekend where so many have plans out of town. Lots of weddings and children's events planned, takes put more than most think. Lots of class reunions as well. We'd be down if I hadn't planned a soccer fundraiser last night and had my son's soccer game this AM. Hard to if not impossible to switch plans on 3 days notice.

They're practically paying you to attend by allowing one free water bottle.
