Question is in regards of the fans not the team.

Was it the first day it was announced? When You won the East?

Did it take some time? I know it probably would have taken some time since you guys were in the big 12 for quite some time.

Hope my topic makes sense since I need sleep.

And kansas still sucks and so does nebraska.

It honestly wasn't until we started winning, thats when people starting buying into the whole "SEC" feel.

That first SEC East title was huge. I think that was a watershed moment.

Eh.....lots of try-hards.

Everything is still pretty much the same. A few people have changed their attire, but that is about it.

Except you can't leave at halftime, which is stupid.

Still see more Big 12 alums and fans around than SEC alums/fans (besides arkansas of course), so I guess my day to day isn't all that different either.

Different opponents certainly give a different vibe.

So thats pretty much how I would describe it. Some new tryhards...but that is pretty much it. Football is still football, and Missouri is still Missouri. Conference affiliation didn't change that.

doesn't seem that way to me, we are much more successful and joining the SEC has played a huge role in it, kids(players) coming to Mizzou now who would have had no interest what so ever before getting out of the dumpsterfire 12.

I still feel like it's us vs. the SEC so I always get excited when we start conference play.

The difference is that every SEC game feels important. When we were in the Big 12 I felt that the OU, Texas, Nebraska, and Kansas games felt important and every thing else was "meh".

I will feel more SEC when I visit Bama, LSU, UGA 3-4 times. But the way they schedule in the SEC that could take 30-40 years.

I'll give you that. Outside of Vandy, and Kentucky a few years ago, there are no gimme SEC games, as opposed to probably 2 or 3 in the Big 12.

That is a difference.

Maybe this has to do more about my age but, I have been to USC last year, ATL 2 years ago, and im going to UGA next week. I never went to a single B12 game.

After the first football season I was hooked, even how terribly we played, the vibe in the SEC was much better and the competition in the Big 12 pales in comparison.

Very happy with the move.

Same here.

It probably has to do more with moving out of Missouri and not making decent money until my mid 20s but the only Big 12 game I went to was Nebraska in 2009.

Ever since we've joined the SEC I make it to one home conference game a year.

Not really. Do I wish things would have gone differently? Absolutely. That likely won't ever change.

I just can't stand people who dress and act differently. "Try-hards". People who didn't support the team previously, but do now. Chanting conference affiliation now, but never did it previously. Very similar breed to the "bandwagoners" IMO

All these things make no sense to me.

Personal opinions about the SEC itself (without missouri) aside, I just don't like people pretending to be something different. Just be yourself, like you were before.

How naive can you be to think that things wouldn't change for both the program and the fan base? You are actually complaining that the interest in the program has gone up because of the move.

Good lord.

I realize it's "about fans" but my point was that more success and a bigger stage(SECN) helps drive fan interest as well.

We wouldn't be discussing Mizzou on a "SECRant" web forum if we didn't get out of that landfill conference.
