True, but when he quit Florida his offense was still beating the breaks off SEC defenses.
Ok, maybe compared to Georgia or Louisiana, SC isn't as much of a talent ridden state, but Spurrier could get in any living room in the country then and probably now.
Maybe the greens at Augusta are just that fricking lush, ha.

After 1996 he never won more than 10 games in a season at UF. This is Florida, loads of talent. Like at Bama, 10 wins a season is about "average". A decent coach should be able to win 10 games a year at either school. There are going to be ups and downs, but on average. Spurrier was a great coach, and he put Florida where they should be. I also think his time is up and he'll retire after this year. Bryant looked a lot older than Spurrier does now, but Spurrier is older than Bryant when he retired.
