They have this show on shotime and it's all about freshmen getting playing time and campus life. Why doesn't a SEC team have a show like this or does the conference TV contract limit the possibility

They need something like this to offset the fact that nobody under the age of 40 remembers a time when they were consistently elite.

notre dame has already sworn never to pay their players. so.....once the ncaa lets the athletes receive a "living" check, it will be the end of notre dame football.

Honestly this does not big me. Their perceived recruiting advantage here is outweighed by the following....

-ugly chicks on campus
- small ugly town that is barely above freezing for most of the year.
-Indiana as a whole sucks.
- tough school that make it hard to get admitted, even to play football.
- no conference so they do not have their channel.
- having their best players sit out for a year due to academic rules.

Realistically, who watches Showtime? Very few D1 recruits probably.

The TV contract probably limits non ESPN/SECN content. I can't complain though. UK on the basketball end has gotten plenty of "extra" coverage on ESPN with them doing things like televising their Bahamas trip to open the SEC network and showing their pro-scout open practice.

Just have to have a coach who can work the system within the framework of the TV contract.
