Johnson's unexpected terrible QB play or losing Lawson to injury.

Which do you think hurt this team the most? I think i'm leaning more toward Lawson. Johnson's play has been atrocious and has killed drives, caused turnovers, and made the defense look worse than it actually may be. Hopefully Sean White can come in and somewhat right the ship..and Johnson's play will just be a bad memory.

However the loss of Lawson impacts our entire season going forward. Unfortunately we are not as talented in our front 7 as we thought this season. The ability Lawson had to disrupt the back field every snap was the biggest thing our defense had going for them. It allowed Adams to get push in the middle and that disrupted offenses. It also hid how bad Frost and Cass really are..and made them look serviceable. Moving forward our offense will get better, but the defense will still suffer. Crazy how much one person could mean so much to this team.

JJ shitting the bed has more impact because who would have ever thought that we couldn't depend on Gus' offense? We knew what the defense would be, more or less, so the Lawson injury took our defense from average to what it normally is. But the offense falling apart? That's a disaster.

So far, JJ.

Overall, Lawson if White is serviceable.

JJ

We were counting on the offense keeping us in games and marginal defensive improvement. The offense is leaving a weak defense on the field and giving up terrible field position.

Losing Lawson is demoralizing, but it is not like the defense could have been that much worse than last year. The offense stinking it up is the bigger impact.

JJ completely. As a direct result:

-Offense can't sustain a drive
-Way too many turnovers
-Offense can barely complete 6+ yard passes
-No tempo
-Poor WR effort due to they fact they knew JJ couldn't get it to them.
-Defense stays on the field FAR longer than they should have to.

You realize of course that this thread is very similar to an autopsy of a drive-by shooting victim....

"Well, it's difficult to determine whether it was the .223 shot through the subject's left cardiac ventricle, or the 9mm slug lodged in the subject's cerebrum that was the actual cause of death..."

Jeremy Johnson and not really close. If he was playing well then the defense would not spend a lot of time on the field.

Most definitely JJ, but both have made me realize I'll be looking like this on most Saturdays to make it through the season:

Still keeping hope alive for Snowboard Cam. Please oh merciful God!
