Two-a-days

Anyone else think we need to reconsider the decision to not do two-a-days this year? I mean, sure, it helped our student athletes achieve their #1 purpose on campus, strut around the NW Quads and hit on sorority pussy, but we don't seem very tough and we have had shitloads of injuries
Who made this decision anyway?
Who made this decision anyway?

I'm just glad our coach willingly forfeited precious, limited practice time in the fall.
Not like we had a new offense we were installing or anything.

Do I think it was a bad decision? Yes.
Do I think it's the cause of all the broken bones? No.

Even with 2 a days you can only have contact during 1 practice. I don't think it means anything, just something else for people to overreact about

Is it A reason we are THIS bad, most likely. But when it comes down to it, we'd still be pretty bad, and it wouldn't have changed the injuries. Still have to wonder about the decision when we're trying to get a new coach acclaimated to players and vise-versa. While the couple weeks worth of 1 more practice a day would've helped to get the linemen in shape, it wouldn't have changed THAT much in the long run.
It is THE reason, no. Is it A reason, I think so.

I know our players were gassed after one series
A little more running around outside in the hot sun practicing probably never hurt anybody...am I wrong?

I've been pretty critical of Bert, but not having 4 days of two a days isn't an issue.
As a college athlete you train and condition your body year round. 4 extra practices with limited contact isn't going to make any difference. You're there all summer getting ready for the season.
I know we are all looking for that "reason" that we suck. Not having two a days isn't one of them. I've been there. No difference.
It's just a case of the injury bug. Now, you may be on to something with the Health/Nutrition diet aspect. Or possibly Herb. Everyone loves Herb, but we are soft up front.

There must be some reason everyone else does them. Why the hell did they get invented in the first place?
Two-a-days may be a mental toughness thing for a team, I don't know. But I think a lack of toughness, especially up front is maybe our biggest problem other than injuries. I don't know if we have had a single QB under pressure yet, and our O-line is clearly melted butter soft

Not everyone else does them.
They were invented because way back when, football wasn't year around. They were used to get kids in shape from being home all summer, etc. Now, it's all year long. Running, lifting, proper diet, proper fluids, etc.
The money a university pours into nutrition and health is probably mind boggling. When I played, our strength coach covered everything. Now, the strength coach has quite a few assistants. There is a dietician on staff. There is a nutritionist. It's crazy how much it's changed in just a short time.
That's why I say the injuries may be more on the nutrition side of things, or it could just be a coincidence.
Two a days though, isnt the reason here for our issues.
