What many of you do not realize is that UGA AD is finally in the process of ridding itself of the culture of cheap and the attitude that "we can win without doing it like the other teams". What happened this Christmas was bigger than any coach. Richt was a huge part of it. He has the support of many key $ folks. Possibly more than ever. He is not going anywhere unless he decides to. Spendding a lot of mental energy dwelling on what 'we' need to do to get a better coach is illogical and indicitive of someone with a low IQ and total lack of situational awareness...

As I said in my post, Richt will retire at a time of his own choosing. Never called for a new coach in this thread. My point is that if you won't change out coaches because the new guy could do worse means you would never change coaches and Muschamp for example would still be at Florida. After all he did win some games. The new guy could do worse.

The point with Spurrier and Meyer is that too carried risk. Spurrier was a pro head coach for 3 years and at Duke for 3. He did pretty well so indicators were there but both jobs are very different than coaching at Fla. Then he went on to the "Skins where he failed as Saban failed at Miami. If coaching experience were instantly transferable between jobs, then both would have been wildly successful in the NFL and Muschamp would have been at Fla also - he was the hot candidate too.

The landscape is littered with coaches that were successful one place or more and failed at their new post. Littered. So, to say the Spurrier and Myer carried no risk is foolish.

The reason I compared to Pelini is that it seemed the primary criteria of RD Dawg is regular season wins and that is OK if that floats his boat.

It has been a decade since we won the SEC. A decade.

The bottom line is what do you want out of the program. What are your goals?

Now that Richt (or Pruitt?) has gotten his way on every single thing thats been holding him back for the last decade, is he out of excuses? Will he ever be on the hotseat again unless the wheels just fall off?
