the offense has to get lined up just like the defense
if Bert really was that concerned for his kid's health he wouldn't wait to see what the offense was lining up to do to make his subs, he would them planned ahead of time.
its really not that hard to just set up a rotation that stipulates the kids are on the field for so long and then automatically rotate off as soon as the play is over to help keep everyone fresh.
