Exactly and he's never had to field a defense after a smoke and mirrors offense.
So, at best, it's an unknown, right? A great defense can be fielded even if the offense is HUNH. Clemson just accomplished that feat with Chad Morris running the offense.

We have had no trouble scoring on his defenses.
Gus Malzahn has no trouble scoring on Nick Saban and Kirby Smart. I guess it'll be a high scoring game.

SEC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ACC

Clemson was third in scoring defense in a down year for scoring defense (first was Ole Miss at 16.0).

I'll grant you that Clemson had a great secondary (and pass rush), but I wouldn't call their entire defense "great."

They played to their strength on defense. Much like Ole Miss in 2014. Clemson wasn't nearly as explosive on offense in 2014, as the two previous seasons.

I think that's the question with Auburn. Will Malzahn dial it back when the various pieces to the puzzle suggest that he should?
