Oh, he juggled it all right. The ball hit his hands and bounced in the air ONCE. At that point, he was about 2 yards from the back line. After one bounce, he secured it with both hands and by the time his leg hit the back line, he'd not only secured it he'd already pulled it to his chest.

It is all right there in the video. You're actually the first person I've ever heard say it wasn't a bad call. Hell, Sports Illustrated even did a story about it and another call that went Penn State's way that season. They drew a field that had the area of Gothard's catch cut out and grafted to the sideline where a Penn State player was credited with a catch when he was out of bounds.
