I read too that he was accused of killing 6-7 men for snoring too loud, but since Hardin was a known liar he said he killed just one

I have a little farm less than 20 miles from where he was born.
Bass Reeves, though, has been the most fascinating answer thus far. Someone DOES need to write the screenplay about him.
