Lol, so in other words LSU's defense wasn't up to par when the talent hit a lull and the offense simultaneously could score quickly?

Wait wait wait.

"Talent hit a lull?" I thought LSU has been stocked with defensive talent since the beginning of football (2000)? I though whoever coached the LSU defense didn't matter because the group is always so damn talented?

And I know you don't mean coaching wasn't up to par, because that magical Raymond coach that Chavis had been leaning on for years was coaching back then. Y'all have made it clear Chavis was the least important coach on the field, so I don't know what else stopped that 2013 team from winning a national title if the offense was so elite?

And you don't have to remind me, I know y'all won your Superbowl that year (vs A&M) instead of a national title. That is something.

They have. The lull was when underclassmen started bailing like crazy, particularly on defense.

That's the line we're fed but in reality they just threw a 10 page hissy fit over, not even a troll thread, but an actual media quote. Let that sink in.

Basically this thread is the response Phat Phil aspires for every day and dreams about at night after he posts UT fluff articles.

Actually I have kinda given up RAing stuff. Living so close to Mexico has taught me if the authorities are corrupt then their attention is worse than their insouciance.

So you are telling me it is possible that if those contributing to the LSU defense bail on it then it could be worse than it was?

Because this forum just spent an offseason arguing the opposite.

Solid.

But players play. I'll get back to you on Steele versus Chavis after the season.

Save that strawman shite for the horses. The argument has consistently been that Chavis benefitted from LSU's talent and running game to keep said talent fresh just as much as said things benefitted from him. Don't get all riled up because you yourself brought up the season that simultaneously demonstrates that point as well as illustrating LSU fans are justified in believing the offense can improve. I couldn't think of a better self boom if I tried.

That hasn't been the argument this offseason I promise you. The argument was that LSU's talent, offense, assistant coaches (minus Brick and especially magical Raymond) overcame the Chavis dead weight such as shitty recruiting, shitty LB/DE play, or the dreaded mustang.

Looks like we both like logical fallacies, how about we call it a day?
