interesting comparison on their run game vs other run teams

Games-Attemps-Yards-Avg per carry-TD's-Carries per game-yards per game
quote:
in August/September 5 229 1583 6.91 20 45.80 316.60
in October 3 122 488 4.00 6 40.67 162.67
in November 4 156 572 3.67 4 39.00 143.00
in December/January 1 50 191 3.82 1 50.00 191.00

So we only averaged 3.82 ypc against Texas? Hmm.. I would have guessed much higher, but it didn't keep us from winning 31-7.

I don't think our run game is unstoppable, but there are several explanations for those numbers. One is that we played all the best teams in the SEC again, including Georgia and Mizzou from the East. Also, our former OC liked to throw the ball when we're running it well, and run it when we're not. Regardless, I think our rushing game will be just fine.

Defensively, we had one star going into last season and that was Trey Flowers. Philon and Spraight became stars as the season progressed. In comparison, we like our defense better this year, so that should tell you all you need to know. No one knows if it's as good as last year's, but it won't be bad.

Just double check from another source, but holding Texas to 59 yards total offense will do that, along with the turnovers

not really an excuse, other teams do this as well

Take away the 3 times that Brandon Allen erotically kneeled for -6 yards and the avg. goes up to 4.06.
