1) Forget The Strip (Cumberland Ave)
2) Park downtown, and you can walk to Market Square, the Old City, and the game. This is key Friday and Saturday. Street parking is free nights and weekends.
3) Calhoun's is on the river near the stadium, but their bbq isn't special imho. There are better options downtown.
4) Like many SEC towns, Knoxville is hilly. Bring good walking shoes.
5) Neyland is old, so most seats and concourses are cramped.

Believe me, we visiting fans all get the fact that's it's old. What we don't get is why UT insists on cramming as many people into Neyland as they do.
It's not just how narrow the visiting seats are, it's how narrow the aisles are. Neyland Stadium's visiting seats need to be at least four inches wider in all directions.
My estimate is by doing that Neyland would drop capacity by about 10,000 seats.
