I don't buy that on a talent level. But from a coaching perspective? Yes. Larry Coker was a bad coach. He was arguably worse than Gene Chizik.

I have a masters in sports science. Knowing the development of the human body and more specifically athletes is basically what I do. I'm telling you, today's athlete is bigger, faster and stronger than 10 years ago. Even high schoolers are more advanced than in 06. Add in how the game has evolved from a scheme standpoint and Miami would not know wtf to do against a lot of teams today. By the time they figured it out, they'd either be in too big of a hole, or they'd be too outmanned (depending on which NC team we're talking about). Maybe even a combo of both.

I realize that team had a tremendous amount of talent, and a lot of those guys went on to be very special in the pros. But they weren't all seasoned vets in 2001. Some of those heralded players were just soph and freshmen. They were not the All-Americans they ended up becoming yet, and they weren't at their top college potential.
