i was just a tech in the navy, back in the 90's. had fun, got to see all of asia, australia some of the middle east (goat cheese pizza in karachi pakistan, bleh!) even went to vladivostok russia for the 4th of july (that went over well, lol).

Had a dear uncle in the Navy. He passed away when I was in the Corps. Still miss him. Dude was 6'8" and jacked. Did a couple of tours in Korea and was in Hawaii for awhile, among other places, iirc. Y'all boat boys get around

that sucks being away from your wife, but at least you found someone worth waiting for. hang in there.

Appreciate it, man. Been married four years, but only lived under the same roof half that time thanks to her and my various deployments, training, TDYs, or just being stationed at different bases. Proud to serve, but I know she's ready to give civilian life a try.

good to see service runs in your family too.

they do have some huge individuals in the navy. we had a guy named lewis from louisiana who could bench 455 and worked out once or twice a week. dude was HUGE. i'm fairly jacked, i'm still working on the 6'8" part

they told us in boot camp that our job is to sling our manhood around the world (paraphrase), but i never served with women, so they might not say that anymore.

do most people in the corps join after college?

sounds like you come from a solid family and have one going yourself.

edit: holy crap. 455, not 555.
