I have this as one of 5 losses for the Vols. I think if this game were late October they would win, but I don't think they are gonna do it game 2. Too many questions. I'm pulling hard for the big orange though. Oklahoma fans are the alabama of the big 12.

Actually, I think that it is in UT's advantage that the game is early in the season. OU is adjusting to a new offensive coordinator who is known for passing attacks...and (with their two excellent running backs) they could actually struggle to find their identity on offense the first couple of games.

East Carolina rush/pass % of total offense under Lincoln Riley:

2010 - 26/74
2011 - 28/72
2012 - 33/67
2013 - 30/70
2014 - 30/70

For the same period of time, Oklahoma's rush/pass % of total offense was:

2010 - 28/72
2011 - 32/68
2012 - 32/68
2013 - 53/47
2014 - 56/44

You can see that for the last two years, there was a huge shift in Oklahoma's offense. While what Riley runs is similar to what OU ran the three years prior, majority of the players on this team are used to a run heavy offense from the past two seasons. How happy will Perine and Mixon be with 10-12 carries per game (which is about what the top backs averaged under Riley for the last 5 seasons at ECU).
