Does he not get enough credit?

I've always felt like he was an underrated coach and overrated recruiter.

We're coming upon his tenth year, and the year that rarely gets talked about is his first. I think 2005 was the best coaching job he's ever done. Getting that team together and enabling them to focus after the biggest hurricane this country has ever seen was nothing short of incredible. Many of those football players had family sleeping on the floors of their dorm rooms, and Miles brought that team to Atlanta.

Everybody remembers Katrina but they forget about Rita & that was a devastating hurricane as well in just a less populated area but it still had an effect. Rita was also the reason the Tennessee game was played on a Monday night. I totally agree with your post though. To make it to SEC Championship with all the distractions, turmoil & no bye week to rest was simply remarkable. Miles doesn't get enough credit for that season.
