My aggravation is just with the general idea that an athletic qb can't thrive in the pro style offense.

Last year is on Cameron for waiting until the end of the season to recognize he needed to try some different looks, and in the bigger picture, Les has failed in recruiting and fostering a culture so that there's always a "program" guy or two - QB's that may never be a major factor, but that understand the playbook and can help if need be.

The problem with what you posted is that kids nowadays refuse to stay put if it playing time isn't available immediately. Look at all the transfers we've had at the position the last few years. It makes what you mentioned extremely difficult.

Yes athletic qbs can do well in a pro style offense but if they've never ran a prostyle offense then they are behind the 8 ball already. A pro style passing tree has a lot more branches. Hell a lot of qbs coming out of high school have never even called a play in the huddle. Let alone make it to his 3rd or 4th read.

You also have to take into consideration that we have had bad luck in qb recruits. Zach Lee bails at the last minute to play baseball, ryan perrilloux was supposed to bridge the gap between Flynn and JLee/JJ, and Gunner Kiel gets home sick.
